A reminder to our young people that they are never too young to know about COVID and to protect themselves so that they can continue to do the things they want to do during this ongoing pandemic. The pandemic is not over. Young people are still contracting COVID and getting really sick. Even if you don’t get sick – who could you have potentially exposed? Young Enough to Know is a reminder that for you to be safe this summer, you will need to know your status – get tested and get vaccinated. We understand that COVID was hard on everyone, but it was especially tough for young people. We are launching the page to help you and your parents/guardians get the facts about COVID and to use them to get your life as back to normal as it can be…safely.

Information about the Booster

If you are 18 years or older you may choose which COVID-19 vaccine you receive as a booster shot. Some people maypreferthe vaccine type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster

Stop The Spread!

While children are as likely as adults to get COVID, kids are less likely to become severely ill. Up to 50% of children and adolescents may have COVID but manifest no symptoms – The Mayo Clinic

This single data point is a call to action that young people not spread COVID to those unable to fight it – elders, small children, people whose immune system is compromised.

Californians can take immediate steps to help protect themselves and their communities from COVID-19 and fast spreading variants. Get vaccinated and, if eligible, get a booster. Help your family and friends find a vaccine near them by going to Myturn.ca.gov or calling 833-422-4255.
